Getting Attention

Palmer is pretty quiet; she can't be expected to maintain a loud voice to keep order in the class. A more effective way is when she sticks her arms out and shouts, sometimes waving about. Talk about getting our attention!

Sense and Sensibility

We don't have enough time to read more than 1 Jane Austen novel, so its great that we can watch a movie for the other books instead. In fact, we have the honor of watching a movie directed by a Chinese man. I mean, a man from actual China...not Hong Kong or anything like that.

Cavenaugh's Garden

So it was decided that Mrs. Cavenaugh can make the blog even better if we include AP Gov tales. And it so happens that today, she declared that we reminded her of a bunch of "little flowers". Hmm...if she is the gardener, then what happens to all of us little flowers?

Cheating off my Test

It is nice to start off the week with a Crime and Punishment Quiz. Its been a good 3 weeks since we last read parts 4-6, so it was a challenge for some people...like Daryl. Palmer caught her cheating off my test, twice. I had written that Porfiry's advice to Raskolnikov was that he should "go eat a hot dog". Daryl copied it onto her paper, and Palmer caught her in the act. She turned to me to say that hot dogs were ridiculous answers for quizzes, and Palmer got on her again for talking during a test. What can I say, Daryl has bad luck with Palmer...
